The SoWa Open Market was really the start of something big for me. I had a website and sales, but nothing compares to the customers that flock to the SoWa Open Market. Not only do I get to bump elbows with and buy directly from favorite artists and independent designers, I get tremendous sales and love from customers as well. The market is really well organized and publicized so I get locals and people as far away as Australia and Paris stopping by and bringing a little bit of New England home with them. The market is an ever changing rotation of handmade goodness!

I am a self proclaimed SoWa groupie… I don’t even bother applying to other shows. Yes, they are that good.

The SoWa Open Market is one of my favorite art festivals by far. The booth fee is completely reasonable and affordable, but more importantly, the buying crowd is phenomenal. Of the forty-five shows that I participate in each year, the SoWa Open Market is by far the most profitable and well organized. I highly recommend this show for both young artists who want to test the marketability of their work, and more experienced artists whose work will appeal to a hip, sophisticated audience. In short, the SoWa Open Market rocks.

Consider … Above-cited excellence.

Ed Cornelia – Silk Road BBQ

There’s no where else in Boston where artists can be seen by the large number of people that come to the SoWa Open Market each week.

The 2010 SoWa Open Market was my most profitable year to date! Setup was very smooth; communication excellent; spaces were clearly marked. Buyer attendance was spectacular – customers were friendly and appreciated handmade items. Advertising and promotion for the event were exemplary. Can’t wait for the 2011 season!

What can one say about the SoWa Open Market? It is one of the most well-run, highly publicized
and well-attended shows around! I love that fact that it is held every Sunday for 6 months and that has allowed me to build a tremendous customer base that always knows where to find me. I have been doing this market for 4 years and it has been such a pleasure…I have met wonderful artisans, celebrities and sold my product to customers all around the globe (love when I sell something to a tourist!) and prompted me to keep my jewelry fresh. I look forward to many more years at this market!

Trish Kozub – IDazz Jewelry

I have been a vendor at the SoWa Open Market for the past 5 years, and every year it gets better and better. Many things make this market great; among them is the location. People experience not just the market, but the great restaurants, art scene, and everything else the South End has to offer. Many make a day of it; plus free parking, what a deal! Chris is able to draw thousands of people on a weekly basis- doing a lot of promotion and he has a way of making it a “hip & happening” Boston scene. Being a vendor at the SoWa Open Market was definitely instrumental in helping me build from a part time hobby to a full time business. I get many repeat customers and am always meeting new people to introduce to my product. I can’t wait to sign up for next year!
